Hummingbird As Leaf

“At the very top of the tree, in the center of the property, tallest amongst the many fruit trees, at the top of the tree, pointing straight up in the air was a bare branch. The branch did not look bare, it looked like it had a leaf. In the morning light, it looked like a black leaf, different from the green leaves. You would have thought it a leaf though even though it moved against the wind sometimes.”

What seems like a hundred years ago (and even a hundred years of solitude), I made this note sitting on the kitchen veranda of a house in the town of Huaypam, outside of Oaxaca, Oaxaca, Mx…. I am back here and for awhile. Two months. Two months where I will actually try and transform myself into a legitimate write. Or rather a recognizable writer. I can only explain that in all other endeavors I am always mistaken for something else. A good programmer for an artist, a good musician for an actor, a good photographer for a philosopher, it’s been insane. Because I don’t believe I am the one thing, neither does anyone else. So although I know I am destined to be a good writer for a web developer, I am going to try my best to give all the appearances of a writer, a serious writer, a writer to be taken seriously. And this blog is going to be one the ways I hope to accomplish this.

There will be many blogs. I have written in my labnotes about the affection I have for blosxom, phposxom, and WordPress. I have many different projects occupying my mind. So across the various pieces of software I will spread various ideas, notes references, researches, and writings. I hope to do this in a way I can actually accomplish some sterling finished product with. Please excuse the customary startup noises in this note. It’s always that way when I reestablish the daily writing habit. I hope to have many more entertaining and enjoyable things to say in the next few days.
